October 2008

About two months back, I had an interesting experience in my Uni… How it happened was really fascinating…

So I was hanging around the school, minding my own business, when my friend(Shawn) called me over… So then here i was in front of our broadcasting lab at school, wondering what on earth was happening… There were a few BC seniors there and they asked me to try reading out a passage from  a chinese script…

That was the first time I went into the BC lab of UTAR… It was  quite interesting, but it lacked the WOW factor… It was quite small, had a shabby kind of feel, but overall, if you just needed the basic requirements for sound recording, it would suit quite well…

So I went in there, and read from the script “夕阳无限好,只是近黄昏”… They seemed satisfied and I went back to my own business… I thought that they needed me to do voiceover for a part in their documentary…

Appears I was wrong!>.<

So not long afterwards, that senior gal came up to me and said:” We like your voice, so can you help us do the narration for our Documentary?”

?!!

OKie… So the final concept is that I was actually in an audition? For a narrator role? and I actually got it?… That’s cool…

So they scheduled me up for some recordings in the following week…

The process was quite interesting… You could record once, then listen to where the problem is, and do a cover over it… and you had to try to talk out the feelings and emotions that should be presented in the documentary… It was quite fun! but after a few hours of continuous recording, I can say that my throat was really tired out…

One funny thing worth noting: The seniors who were in the recording room were telling me this… They asked me to record some of my talkings for them to listen to when they want to sleep… Cos they said it’s so soothing…!!! Haha… okie… No wonder Lu Ling likes to listen to bed-time stories so much… haha…

Well actually, after the final DVD came out… I listened to it and found myself feeling sleepy too!!! lol…  not in a bad way though…

Overall it was quite an experience, got to know some new friends, got to try out the BC lab, first time doing narration  for a documentary, and the first time getting to know that my voice was actually “marketable”… haha…

I’ll downsize the documentary and post it for you guys to see ba!

Hang on!…

Being near the ever-approaching “outside world” society, I finally got to realize that life will never be like what it was when I was in high school…

Who is a friend? Who is a foe… What I can do is to protect myself…

Well, funny thing is that I went ahead to find where the guy’s gal was working at… and we saw a Kancil that looked just like theirs… So we did a funny thing, and stopped by a nearby mamak shop to wait for the owner of the car, while having our dinner… It was about 6 o clock at that time and so we waited… and waited…

and waited…

But still, nobody came… Frustrated, we went back home…

Thinking back: what could we have done even if we had realized that the car really belonged to that two little thiefs… Should we force them to pay? Should we kidnap them?(>.<) Well, Lu Ling suggested that we scratch their car until it is beyond any repair… Okie, so what good would that be to us… We still won’t be getting any of that money back, then what’s the point of doing this to them? She says: ” I’ll be happy just to see that they need to spend all their stolen money to repair their car…”

Well, of course we didn’t do that…

From my point of view, what goes around comes around… No point in being the bad guy here… Even if they were to receive any retribution of any sort, there won’t be a need for me to take revenge on him… Bad things find their way themselves to the bad guys… and by scratching their car, I’ll be taking part of the bad stuff too…

So do believe in the Third Law of Newton: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction…

They stole my money and cheated on me… To the other side of the equation will be a retribution falling on him, be it he loses his money somehow, or something worse happening to him… Cheating money doesn’t always have to be paid back by money… and for me losing money, I will get some good from it no matter how…

That is my belief…

The world goes round, and so do everything else…
