About two months back, I had an interesting experience in my Uni… How it happened was really fascinating…
So I was hanging around the school, minding my own business, when my friend(Shawn) called me over… So then here i was in front of our broadcasting lab at school, wondering what on earth was happening… There were a few BC seniors there and they asked me to try reading out a passage from a chinese script…
That was the first time I went into the BC lab of UTAR… It was quite interesting, but it lacked the WOW factor… It was quite small, had a shabby kind of feel, but overall, if you just needed the basic requirements for sound recording, it would suit quite well…
So I went in there, and read from the script “å¤•é˜³æ— é™å¥½,åªæ˜¯è¿‘黄昔… They seemed satisfied and I went back to my own business… I thought that they needed me to do voiceover for a part in their documentary…
Appears I was wrong!>.<
So not long afterwards, that senior gal came up to me and said:” We like your voice, so can you help us do the narration for our Documentary?”
?!!
OKie… So the final concept is that I was actually in an audition? For a narrator role? and I actually got it?… That’s cool…
So they scheduled me up for some recordings in the following week…
The process was quite interesting… You could record once, then listen to where the problem is, and do a cover over it… and you had to try to talk out the feelings and emotions that should be presented in the documentary… It was quite fun! but after a few hours of continuous recording, I can say that my throat was really tired out…
One funny thing worth noting: The seniors who were in the recording room were telling me this… They asked me to record some of my talkings for them to listen to when they want to sleep… Cos they said it’s so soothing…!!! Haha… okie… No wonder Lu Ling likes to listen to bed-time stories so much… haha…
Well actually, after the final DVD came out… I listened to it and found myself feeling sleepy too!!! lol…Â not in a bad way though…
Overall it was quite an experience, got to know some new friends, got to try out the BC lab, first time doing narration for a documentary, and the first time getting to know that my voice was actually “marketable”… haha…
I’ll downsize the documentary and post it for you guys to see ba!
Hang on!…
