Haha… one would think when they see the topic that i took a luxurious bus back home to JB for Chinese New Year… apparently not…>.<

A few weeks ago, worried of not getting tickets to go back to my hometown for the festive seasons, I bought two train tickets for me and Gladys dated 22nd January 2009 21:19 hours. Due to a few reasons, of which I play a big part, we didn’t make it in time for the train! I even called up the station master of KL Sentral asking him to give me one more minute as I was only an LRT stop away from KL Sentral… He told me no, they had to be strictly on schedule!

So, there we were, at KL Sentral, with the people there telling us that the train had just left the station around 10 seconds ago… My only hope was that we could take the KTM Komuter and hop on to the train in Seremban… So the Komuter cost another RM6…

Reaching Seremban after an hour and a half long journey, I guess most of you would know what happened… Yeap, we didn’t manage to reach there in time for the train…

So there we were, stuck in Seremban at 11.30 in the night… (more…)

You know I really meet so many interesting ppl in the process of my house rental…

So it happened that our house lacked a fridge and someone had a fridge from his house and he brought it over, just that he wanted us to share the transportation costs… which was RM150… dividing into seven people using the fridge will be around RM21 per person…

So… here comes the interesting part…

Mrs. Wife and Mr. Husband who were staying in the same room… I collected RM36 from them as a discount for being in the same room… So then, Mrs. Wife said to me after I told her the costs…

Mrs. Wife: “Hey Lim, how come you charge us for two person using a? I’m using it only but my husband never use!”

(speechless)

Ok… so tell me how am I supposed to reply to this question… Yeah right, and why not I just charge them single person charges for the electric and water bills? She could have said that she uses the light but her husband doesn’t… >.<

2008这年。。。16号这天。。。

About two months back, I had an interesting experience in my Uni… How it happened was really fascinating…

So I was hanging around the school, minding my own business, when my friend(Shawn) called me over… So then here i was in front of our broadcasting lab at school, wondering what on earth was happening… There were a few BC seniors there and they asked me to try reading out a passage from  a chinese script…

That was the first time I went into the BC lab of UTAR… It was  quite interesting, but it lacked the WOW factor… It was quite small, had a shabby kind of feel, but overall, if you just needed the basic requirements for sound recording, it would suit quite well…

So I went in there, and read from the script “夕阳无限好,只是近黄昏”… They seemed satisfied and I went back to my own business… I thought that they needed me to do voiceover for a part in their documentary…

Appears I was wrong!>.<

So not long afterwards, that senior gal came up to me and said:” We like your voice, so can you help us do the narration for our Documentary?”

?!!

OKie… So the final concept is that I was actually in an audition? For a narrator role? and I actually got it?… That’s cool…

So they scheduled me up for some recordings in the following week…

The process was quite interesting… You could record once, then listen to where the problem is, and do a cover over it… and you had to try to talk out the feelings and emotions that should be presented in the documentary… It was quite fun! but after a few hours of continuous recording, I can say that my throat was really tired out…

One funny thing worth noting: The seniors who were in the recording room were telling me this… They asked me to record some of my talkings for them to listen to when they want to sleep… Cos they said it’s so soothing…!!! Haha… okie… No wonder Lu Ling likes to listen to bed-time stories so much… haha…

Well actually, after the final DVD came out… I listened to it and found myself feeling sleepy too!!! lol…  not in a bad way though…

Overall it was quite an experience, got to know some new friends, got to try out the BC lab, first time doing narration  for a documentary, and the first time getting to know that my voice was actually “marketable”… haha…

I’ll downsize the documentary and post it for you guys to see ba!

Hang on!…

Being near the ever-approaching “outside world” society, I finally got to realize that life will never be like what it was when I was in high school…

Who is a friend? Who is a foe… What I can do is to protect myself…

Well, funny thing is that I went ahead to find where the guy’s gal was working at… and we saw a Kancil that looked just like theirs… So we did a funny thing, and stopped by a nearby mamak shop to wait for the owner of the car, while having our dinner… It was about 6 o clock at that time and so we waited… and waited…

and waited…

But still, nobody came… Frustrated, we went back home…

Thinking back: what could we have done even if we had realized that the car really belonged to that two little thiefs… Should we force them to pay? Should we kidnap them?(>.<) Well, Lu Ling suggested that we scratch their car until it is beyond any repair… Okie, so what good would that be to us… We still won’t be getting any of that money back, then what’s the point of doing this to them? She says: ” I’ll be happy just to see that they need to spend all their stolen money to repair their car…”

Well, of course we didn’t do that…

From my point of view, what goes around comes around… No point in being the bad guy here… Even if they were to receive any retribution of any sort, there won’t be a need for me to take revenge on him… Bad things find their way themselves to the bad guys… and by scratching their car, I’ll be taking part of the bad stuff too…

So do believe in the Third Law of Newton: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction…

They stole my money and cheated on me… To the other side of the equation will be a retribution falling on him, be it he loses his money somehow, or something worse happening to him… Cheating money doesn’t always have to be paid back by money… and for me losing money, I will get some good from it no matter how…

That is my belief…

The world goes round, and so do everything else…

“塞翁失马, 焉知非福”

Who would have realized that the thief was actually staying next door without me knowing it…

And the reason I found out he was the thief… well, it’s a bit funny if you ask me…

So before sharing out the process of finding out the thief, let me give you a little back story on the petty little ‘kia’:

So this guy and his girlfriend moved into the house in August…The guy’s called K3NNY…(SouthPark: Oh my god, they killed Kenny!…>.<) Anyway, he moved in with his girlfriend and paid me RM200, telling me that he will bank in the rest of the money… So, I waited for a few days and he told me that he had banked in the money… Interestingly, I did not see any trace of income in my bank account… So, I politely asked him to check again… He said that it was his parents who helped him bank in the money and the receipt is at his hometown, and he would have to wait until he goes back to get the receipt…

Days passed, followed by weeks… I could have kept on asking him about the money, but I had other matters at hand… My finals were approaching just around the corner and I had no time to deal with these kinds of businesses.

So, one day he finally approached me himself saying that his parents were coming down to see where he was staying and would bring along the receipt… So i waited… and came the day when I was studying  for my Japanese when my girlfriend noted that it seemed funny that the two of them were not seen for the past few days and that they had left their windows open… So i knocked on their effing door, only to hear the sound of… emptiness…

Turning the knob, another “emptiness” greeted my sight… $h1T was all that I could think of… they stayed for two months, paying me only RM200, and took off with a handphone and my RM50 + shillings!!! WtF…

P./S. He actually made off with another rice cooker and two radios and quite a huge sum of money which was left in the hall by the previous tenant of his room… Must have been a hell fun of a time for him during his stay in this house…

So they say… that cursing with french is like wiping your arse with silk…

“fais pas ta tortue à trois pattes, fils de pute.”

The human mind is something that is so complex and full of twists and turns that one could not possibly be able to comprehend to it so easily…

Who is a friend? Who is a foe? The simplicity of this question is answered by millions of neurons going through our head… Yet the answer is ever so far beyond the simplicity of it… We may never know if someone is really who we think he is, especially in these times full of lies and deceit in the human world…

As the Chinese simply put it: 好人难做( Being a good person is always difficult)

It so happened that a few weeks ago, my girlfriend came over to my place to stay for the night. What happened was that she put her hand phone on the table and went to sleep… The next day morning, she woke up wondering how come the phone alarm didn’t go off. It was then only when she realized that the phone was missing. I was woken up thinking that she had only misplaced it somewhere and we would find it in no time… But then, after an hour of fruitless search, we came to a conclusion that the phone was really stolen… So, in a daze, I called up my friend who was more senior and should have more knowledge on these kinds of matters and asked him to come over and help me think over it.

Layout of the house

Thinking back, my girlfriend recalled that she actually saw someone appear at the window that night… It just happened that she thought that she was dreaming and didn’t do anything about it… It seemed so unimaginable… A house thief!!! What should we do?

So then, we came upon a decision to call up a house meeting that night… The motive of the meeting was to find out who the culprit was… So, I told everyone during the meeting that such a thing had happened and that someone among us has not been very honest. I told them that I had already known who that person was and was giving him a chance to own up… Basically, we were just playing mind games with them and trying to find out who the person was… The meeting came and went… but not without success… Both my girlfriend and my friend who were observing the people attending the meeting came to the same conclusion that there was one specific person who fit in the “thief personality”… So was it really him?

Here comes the second part of our mind game: I SMSed him the next morning asking him: “Do you have anything to tell me?”… He said no, nothing… and asked me whether I’ve caught the thief yet… Then I started hitting down on him saying that the thief still didn’t come forward and put on lots of hints that I am suspecting he is the thief… He ain’t dumb too… and he asked me whether I was suspecting him and said that he was very disappointed… and had nothing to tell me…

What could I do?

It appears that the thief was far from being conscious of what he had done… A few days later, my wallet was found on the floor with all the money gone and all the insides obviously being gone through before… What’s funny though is that the person even bothered to take all the shillings…

Days passed and weeks gone by… It appears that I’m getting further and further away from catching the wretched thief… You can say that I’ve given up hope and focused more on protecting my assets from further thefts…

(To be continued…)

So I was in the process of helping my girlfriend rent out her room today, when there happened an interesting thing…

A person called me enquiring about the room…

Person: hi, who are you?

Me: Uh, what do you want?

Person: Oh, I’d like to ask about the room at Section 14 that you put online for renting…  I’m at Section 14 now, but I can’t find the road… It’s Jln 14/2, right? Is it a shophouse?

Me: Shophouse? No… It’s a terraced house… where are you now? Do you see a playground? or any other landmarks?

Person: Uh, no playground… There is a Bak Kut Teh shop here…

Me: Bak Kut Teh? No… Do you know where is Digital Mall?

( here comes the interesting part )

Person: Digital Mall?! Oh! You mean Petaling Jaya Section 14? Oh! I’m at Subang Jaya now!… Uh… ok ok… see you later…

Afterthought: hmm… interesting…

After nearly two weeks of hectic preparation, going through all those funny stuff together, staying up late through the night, getting sick in the process, sending people home in the middle of the night and getting lost in the process, turning into a “girl” just for acting’s sake, bearing with hunger just to train with my partner…. It’s finally over! Relief? Nah… Not a single sense of relief. I can only feel the sadness of not being able to gather together every single day and playing and laughing all along…

Yes, I do miss all these…

But I believe we’ll get together again and have some more fun together, right?>.<
